Dr. Warren Washington, head of the climate change research at the U.S. National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and a member of the Joint Center’s Commission to Engage African American’s on Climate Change, was recently profiled on theroot.com. One of the premier climate modeling experts, Washington has been studying climate change since the 1960s. In 2007 his group at NCAR shared in the Nobel Peace Prize as significant contributors to the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change Assessment.
“It’s nice to know that the world is paying attention now,” he said.
