Climate Commisioners in Copenhagen: Carolyn L. Green

Carolyn L. Green

Leading the Joint Center’s COP15 Delegation is Carolyn L. Green, managing partner of EnerGreen Capital Management, LLC in Philadelphia and chairperson of the American Association of Blacks in Energy. Ms. Green works to ensure that Black consumer concerns remain at the forefront of the energy industry.
At COP15, Ms. Green plans to explore energy inequality on a global scale. “I want to increase my understanding of how the environmental justice concerns of African Americans and other communities of color in the U.S. mesh with and support those of our brothers and sisters around the world,” she said. “I’m especially interested in hearing more about the “One Africa, One Degree” position and how meeting such a target might affect energy poor communities in Europe and North America.”
“These are the sorts of issues,” she added, “that the Commission is particularly well positioned to examine as the U.S. debates its own climate legislation in the coming months.”
